Baffles, Weirs, Launders, & Covers
Performing a wide array of functions, Weirs, Baffles, Launders, and Covers are integral parts of a wastewater treatment plant. Whether to mitigate density currents, reduce scum carryover, separate zones in biological tanks, increase residence time for disinfection, reduce flow turbulence, etc., composite baffles are simple pieces of equipment that play an important role in the wastewater treatment process. Covers are used often to prevent freezing in cold climates, or odors from otherwise open top tanks. AFT carries a wide range of covers from full tank aluminum geodesic dome covers, walkable FRP tank covers, FRP launder covers, and aluminum and FRP channel covers.
Whether part of a gravity filter, or pressure filter, underdrains are an integral part of the water treatment process. The unique design and strength of stainless steel underdrains allows for easy installation that is robust enough to last for a long time.
Passive water intake screens are used to filter out large debris from lakes, rivers, streams and reservoirs. They are often installed at the beginning of an intake pipe to a water treatment plant. Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis
NF/RO applications are used to remove unwanted salts and contaminants from a feed water stream. It is commonly used in drinking water, water reuse and desalination applications. Systems are designed to achieve removal of TDS, TOC, alkalinity, sodium, chloride, phosphate, iron, manganese, arsenic, boron and other salts or contaminants based on membrane projections which simulate the rejection of these contaminants by the NF/RO membrane.
