Slide Gates, Stop Logs, Flap Gates
Our product offering is vast and can suit applications for a wide variety of industries. Choose from cast iron slide or flap gates, fabricated slide or flap gates, rectangular butterfly gates, stop logs, wall thimbles, lifts and accessories.
Aluminum Slide Gates
Aluminum gates are fabricated by welding together extruded frame members. An economical yet rugged option compared to other materials, extruded aluminum is combined with flexible ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW) and Neoprene seat/seals, to provide a heavy-duty assembly. Every gate is made to order which allows us the ability to meet every customers needs.
Stainless Steel Slide Gates
Stainless Steel Gates offer high performance and long life in designs which accommodate a wide range of mounting arrangements and flow conditions. Rugged, reinforced stainless steel construction is combined with tough, flexible ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW) seat/seals, to provide a heavy-duty assembly. Flush bottom closure is provided by a resilient bottom seal.
Cast Iron Gates
cast iron slide gates, formerly known as sluice gates, are used to control the flow of fluid through openings under seating or unseating head. Under seating pressure, fluid exerts a force on the front of the gate. The pressure of the water forces the gate slide against the frame which causes the gate to seal tightly. Cast Iron gates are extremely durable and rugged, and have been in use for many years in the water/wastewater industry.
Stop Logs
Aluminum Stop Logs have been used for many years to contain water in ponds, tanks, or channels. They are used in applications where their installation or removal is required infrequently. Historically, stop logs have been made from squared timbers as their name suggests. The availability of wood in the sizes, quality and quantity to make traditional stop logs has become increasingly difficult. The lack of dimensional stability in wood also makes it very difficult to provide timber stop logs with predictable leakage characteristics.
Stop Gates
Stop gates feature an extruded metal or break formed plate section to act as a guide for the gate slide. The guide can be embedded in side walls or mounted on the face of a rectangular flume or conduit. The gate consists of an aluminum or stainless steel plate which can be reinforced if necessary, and has hand holes or handles for manual opening of the gate. A hand-pull gate is an economical way to divert water in rectangular channels.
Flap Gates
Flap Gates are used for backflow prevention in gravity flow; pump discharge and tidal applications. Fabricated Flap Gates offer high performance and long life in designs that accommodate a wide range of mounting arrangements and flow conditions. Rugged, reinforced construction is combined with a resilient seal to provide a heavy-duty, low leakage flap gate. Reinforced rubber flap gates, or full metal flap gates are available in standard or custom sizes.
Composite Slide Gates
The Plasti-Fab engineered composite Slide Gate is the ideal solution for corrosive environments that have had metal gates seize up, or freeze in place. Composite Gates have no chemical bonds that can be broken down and cause the gate to fail. Composite FRP materials are rust-free and do not corrode like metals. Plasti-Fab Slide Gates have been installed and in operation for over 40 years and continue to operate and function as designed. All Composite materials are guaranteed against corrosion for 25 years.
HDPE Slide Gates
The Wapro WaGate® sluice gates can be installed in individual chambers, pumping stations or treatment plants. A common area of use is as an emergency shut-off beside roads to prevent environmentally hazardous substances from contaminating water sources, pastures and arable land.
